Our parent organizing program is working to build authentic parent participation and collaboration in individual schools and with district leadership. ICUC youth organizers are working to ensure that there are mental health support services for students on campus at all schools. In our immigrant organizing campaign we are focusing on defending immigrants’ rights and leading Know Your Rights Workshops for hundreds of immigrants in our congregations. Our criminal justice campaign is centering the voices of formerly incarcerated persons to change local law enforcement policies and practices related to hiring, equipment, accountability and training. In our violence prevention campaign we are working to reduce homicides in San Bernardino and in our Voter Engagement program we are carrying out phone banks and canvassing in 20 congregations and 8 schools and we will speak directly with more than 20,000 voters.
